Deadhunt to dynamiczna strzelanka pierwszoosobowa (gra akcji/FPS), za której przygotowanie odpowiada firma REL Games. Gracz wciela się tutaj w obrońcę ostatniego z ocalałych bastionów ludzkości przed nieustannie atakującymi hordami nieumarłych. Tylko od jego starań zależy ostateczny wynik bitwy o dominację na Ziemi.
Omawiany tytuł przypomina swoimi założeniami starsze strzelanki FPP, których idee wskrzesił chociażby Serious Sam - podczas rozgrywki należy przetrwać za wszelką cenę i pokonać jak największą ilość przeciwników, nie mają przy tym praktycznie żadnej chwili na wytchnienie czy krótki odpoczynek. Do przejścia przygotowano czterdzieści misji, fabularnie połączonych w cztery większe epizody. Na kolejnych poziomach grający staje do rywalizacji z całymi zastępami oponentów (50 rodzajów), których można podzielić na trzy główne typy (zombie, szkieletory oraz robaki; z różnymi rodzajami pancerza czy zbroi). W ich likwidowaniu pomaga bogaty arsenał broni, wśród których wypada wymienić pistolety, shotguny, karabiny maszynowe i granaty. W programie nie brakuje także prowizorycznych elementów RPG (pokonane bestie „wyrzucają” bonusy, przedmioty, broń oraz runy, za które rozwijamy prowadzonego herosa i dajemy mu tymczasowo super moc, podwójne obrażenia czy ogólnie zwalniamy całą akcję). Jako dodatek przygotowano jeszcze dwa tryby gry: „Survival” i „Greed”. W tym pierwszym gracz musi zdobyć jak najwięcej punktów, przyznawanych za likwidowanie nieumarłych czy zbieranie przedmiotów, zaś w tym drugim rozgrywka toczy się do momentu, w którym osoba siedząca przed monitorem komputera uzna, że bohater może zaraz umrzeć (zmagania są przerywane po naciśnięciu odpowiedniego klawisza; jeśli grający spóźni się z decyzją i prowadzona postać zginie, to osiągnięty rezultat punktowy zostanie wyzerowany).
Za generowanie efektów wizualnych odpowiada autorski, w pełni trójwymiarowy silnik. Obrazu całości dopełniają: możliwość wybrania jednego z trzech poziomów trudności rozgrywki oraz klimatyczna ścieżka dźwiękowa, składająca się z piętnastu utworów.

Remember those super addictive games from the past where you have to survive as long as possible against endless hordes of monsters? The longer you stay alive, the more perks and bonuses you get. By collecting items from slain monsters, you consistently develop your character.
Deadhunt will remind you of those good old games. However, it brings a brand new level of game play to the genre. Unlike the old 2-D top-view style implementations, Deadhunt is a modern first person 3D-shooter game using all the power of modern 3D accelerators. The visual effects are brilliant. Realistic scenes create an atmosphere of doom and horror.
The game features an outstanding arsenal of firearms. Player can wear pistols, automatic guns, shotguns, machine guns, grenades, etc. Monsters usually carry swords and halberds, but they can choose from 20 different weapons. There are 50 different monsters divided into 3 main classes (zombies, skeletons and bugs). The models are very realistic. You can, for example, shoot off the sword-carrying hand of a monster. Crippled creatures will pursue you, trying for a knockout with its other hand.
In addition to 40 missions in 4 episodes, you can choose from two different game modes: "Survival" and "Greed". In the "Survival" mode, you simply need to get as many points as possible by killing monsters and gathering items. In the "Greed" mode, your score is zeroed if your character dies. You have to stop the game in the moment when you feel that death is inevitable.
